CEO Key Priorities & Responsibilities

As the Chief Executive Officer of Baton Rouge General, you will be responsible for executing strategic and tactical plans to position the organization as a leading force in independent community-led healthcare delivery. This includes engaging membership and stakeholders as key partners in organization decisions, initiatives, and efforts, and growing into a well-integrated organization with a positive identity and culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop relationships with key private and public community leaders to ensure Baton Rouge General is recognized as an entity to speak for independent organizations.
  • Build innovative and meaningful collaborations and shared services among member organizations and proactively seek member input and involvement in key Baton Rouge General affairs.
  • Develop additional revenue streams for Baton Rouge General to assure sustainability and growth.
  • Assure any Baton Rouge General staff and/or contractors are of high professional caliber and a culture of performance, accountability, and collaboration exists.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Results-driven leadership experience in healthcare operations, implementing new programs, services, and initiatives.
  • A comprehensive understanding of healthcare operations and the Louisiana healthcare landscape to continue to build integration among coalition members.
  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to rapidly establish credibility and trust with a broad range of individuals and entities.
  • A Master's degree in healthcare, business administration, or another related field, with a minimum of five years' experience in executive management/operations in healthcare.
Summary

The Chief Executive Officer is accountable for strategy, operations, business development, member and vendor partner value and engagement, fiscal management, contract negotiations, facilitation of collaborative efforts, lead and facilitate peer networking, member and key stakeholder engagement, and development of professional relationships. The CEO is responsible for bringing financial and operational efficiencies to all members and fulfilling Baton Rouge General's vision to ensure independent community-led hospitals are supported and resourced to deliver the highest quality healthcare in the communities served.
