We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant-Unit Coordinator to join our team at Gillette Children's. This is a 0.8 FTE Evening shift position, requiring 8 hours of work and every other weekend. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Nursing Assistant and possess strong organizational skills, effective stress management, and excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clerical support to the nursing departments, including coordination of communication, transcription of provider orders, and maintenance of unit supplies.
- Assist professional nurses in meeting basic activity of daily living (ADL) needs of patients, while maintaining an orderly and safe physical environment.
- Coordinate patient schedules and tests with multiple departments, and respond to a decentralized nursing care delivery system.
- Transcribe provider orders accurately and efficiently.
- Assist patients to safely complete ADLs as delegated by the nurse, and demonstrate safe and appropriate transfer techniques.
- High school diploma/GED
- Current CPR certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association)
- Physically able to work hours required and safely transport/transfer patients
- Preferred: Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant course or currently a student in an accredited Nursing program
