Job Title: Regional Chief Development Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Chief Development Officer to join our team at the American Red Cross. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others while advancing your career in fundraising and development.

About the Role:

The Regional Chief Development Officer will be responsible for leading the development team in the Central and Southern Ohio Region, driving revenue growth and strengthening relationships with donors and stakeholders. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication and leadership skills, who can build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute annual and multi-year fundraising strategies for the region, with a focus on growing annual revenue and diversifying the donor base.
  • Lead a team of development professionals in planning, managing, and implementing fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners to secure significant gifts and sponsorships.
  • Collaborate with national headquarters development staff to identify and pursue new fundraising opportunities.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and reports to track progress and ensure accountability.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required, with a minimum of 10 years of fundraising experience, preferably in a non-profit or healthcare setting.
  • Advanced degree highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of success in fundraising, with a strong understanding of donor behavior and motivation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
