Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop engineering automation tools grounded in DevOps methodologies to streamline and scale applications for production environments. Create, analyze, and sustain scripts, tools, hardware, and systems that facilitate and automate software release processes.
  • Design automated, scalable, and repeatable workflows. Proactively explore, recommend, and implement enhancements to optimize development and operational processes.
  • Engage actively in the release planning process to ensure comprehensive consideration of technical release procedures. Automate the deployment of releases to higher environments.
  • Collaborate closely in an Agile setting with engineers and product teams to analyze challenges and derive new insights regarding our business operations.
  • Document work outcomes and prepare status reports detailing successes and challenges for management review.
  • Ensure comprehensive security practices are upheld throughout all processes.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to application development, deployments, and operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related discipline from an accredited institution is required.
  • A minimum of five years of experience managing AWS resources and automating CI/CD pipelines is essential.
  • AWS Certified Developer Associate and/or AWS SysOps Administrator Associate certifications are required.
  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate Certification is necessary.
  • Experience in Release Engineering, Source Code Management, or related automated build, test, and deployment environments is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Azure or Google Cloud platforms is a plus.
  • Experience with Blue/Green, Canary, or other zero downtime deployment strategies is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of microservices and event-driven architecture is desirable.
  • Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Mesos is preferred.
  • Virtualization experience (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM) is an asset.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle is important.
  • Familiarity with QA and testing methodologies is necessary.
  • Knowledge of secure SDLC practices, including OWASP top 10 and CWE/SANS top 25, is essential.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure tools like Cloud Formation and Terraform is required.
  • Advanced understanding of AWS concepts such as VPC, EC2, Route53, IAM, and Lambda is crucial.
  • Familiarity with DNS, NFS, TCP/IP, and other protocols is necessary.
  • Strong skills in Node.JS or .NET Core (C#) are required.
  • Excellent scripting abilities in PowerShell, Python, or Bash are essential.
  • Exposure to NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.) is beneficial.
  • Strong practical skills in Windows and Linux system administration in cloud environments are required.
  • Familiarity with RDBMS (MySQL, SQL Server, Aurora, etc.) is a plus.
  • Capability to build and manage CI/CD pipelines is essential.
  • Ability to perform sedentary tasks for extended periods is required.
