This position is with NextEra Energy, a prominent clean energy provider based in Juno Beach, Florida. NextEra Energy operates Florida Power & Light Company, the largest electric utility in the U.S. by sales volume, serving millions of customers across Florida. AP Recruiters & Associates, located in West Palm Beach, Florida, has been providing staffing solutions to NextEra Energy since 2008.
Position Overview:
The Site Construction Supervisor will act as the Owner's representative, overseeing all facets of plant and facility construction, including interconnect, site preparation, owner-purchased materials, safety protocols, startup, commissioning, and project closure. This role is crucial for managing the team and ensuring compliance with budgetary, scheduling, and safety objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise project operations, ensuring adherence to corporate safety and quality standards throughout all site activities.
2. Collaborate with resources and subcontractors across various disciplines to establish project priorities, schedules, and work plans that meet milestones.
3. Ensure the site maintains cleanliness and compliance with safety protocols.
4. Manage subcontractors according to contract requirements, serving as the lead manager and administrator.
5. Oversee onsite staff, including inspectors, ensuring effective communication and reporting.
6. Provide regular updates on project progress, indicators, and recovery plans to upper management.
7. Ensure projects are executed efficiently, effectively, and safely, in line with departmental procedures, local regulations, and contractual obligations.
8. Assess field status, verify constructability, and resolve issues as they arise.
9. Lead project meetings, reviewing budget, schedule, quality, risk management, and contingency allocations.
10. Interface with designated management committees or third parties, acting as the primary company representative for project activities.
11. Ensure compliance with SWPPP and stormwater regulations.
12. Manage execution requirements outlined in agreements to achieve project milestones.
13. Oversee the validation of completed work against design requirements and approve contractor payment requests.
14. Ensure project schedules are adhered to throughout the construction lifecycle until project closeout.
15. Supervise activities related to safety programs, engineering, construction, budgeting, and contract administration.
16. Oversee commissioning activities to meet corporate objectives, with limited project management, scheduling, and estimating resources.
17. Travel between project sites as necessary.
18. The Site Construction Supervisor is expected to be onsite daily while the site is active.
Additional Duties:
Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned.
