Job Overview

BASIS Ed is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year.

Job Summary

The Special Education Teacher will work directly with students to identify and fulfill needed educational services and supports as part of a student's Individualized Education Program (IEP). This role involves participating in IEP meetings, providing support to general education teachers, and ensuring compliance with state and federal special education requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with students with disabilities in small group settings or one-on-one to fulfill IEP requirements
  • Interact directly with assigned students to provide specially designed instruction and facilitate other supports and/or related services
  • Provide instructional interventions and academic support to individual students or small groups
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to implement IEP requirements for their students
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal special education requirements
  • Facilitate ARD meetings and coordinate with related service providers
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card and/or satisfactory applicable state background check
  • Current special education certificate valid in relevant jurisdiction
  • CPR and First Aid certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in special education or a related subject matter
  • Master's degree in special education or a related subject matter
  • 1+ year(s) of special education experience
  • CPI / EC-12 Special Education Teaching Certificate
