Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Asset Manager to join our team. This is a challenging and rewarding role that will involve managing the day-to-day activities of our real estate department, including surveying and property management.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in surveying or a related field. They will also be required to have a Texas Registered Surveyor License and be proficient in PC software applications, including Microsoft Office.

The salary for this position is estimated to be between $78,841 and $130,087 per year, based on location and experience. If you are a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about transportation asset management, we encourage you to apply.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing DART's contract for mowing and vegetation control of DART-owned railroad corridors and other properties;
  • Regularly inspecting DART right-of-way and other real estate properties to ensure adequate maintenance and compliance with agreement terms;
  • Performing deed research, reviewing deed descriptions, verifying title, and coordinating or preparing legal descriptions;
  • Reviewing plans and surveys for accuracy of legal description;
  • Preparing boundary surveys and field notes for the sale, lease, or licensing of DART property;
  • Supervising professional consultants performing surveys, right-of-way management, and other real estate and property management services;
  • Assisting with the department's continuous efforts to update, correct, and improve DART's Geographical Information System (GIS) property viewer;
  • Identifying opportunities to transform DART properties into fantastic spaces and generate revenue through leases, licenses, or surplus property sales;
  • Coordinating with DART Design & Capital Construction and Operations Departments to support DART capital projects;
  • Coordinating with code compliance city officials and other stakeholders to address violations, including vegetation, trash and debris, encampments, graffiti, and other issues;
  • Coordinating with engineering, designers, and utility owners to locate and relocate utilities before construction projects start;
  • Preparing a statement of work for contracts and blanket purchase orders as necessary to support the department;
  • Reviewing, processing payments, and monitoring BPO expenditures;
  • Preparing reports and correspondence as needed;
  • Ensuring compliance with Board policy and applicable state, local, and federal laws and regulations related to DART property management.
