Know Your Rights:
The Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering safe and effective patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
The RN will also oversee and guide patient and family education as well as the activities of other nursing staff while upholding professional nursing standards.
They must be capable of responding swiftly and accurately to changes in patient conditions and treatment responses, ensuring a safe environment for both patients and visitors.
The RN will utilize the chain of command when necessary to guarantee patient safety and the appropriateness of care for neonates from post-delivery stabilization through discharge.
NICU Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice, specifically assisting neonates.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Possession of a current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintenance of certification.
- NRP (AHA) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
- A minimum of one year of experience in an acute care setting, with specific experience in a nursery or NICU environment.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
