Position Summary:
  • The Fitness Training Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the club provides an exceptional fitness experience for all members.
  • Tasked with communicating and maintaining company standards while setting a positive example. Ensure that team members consistently adhere to expectations regarding punctuality, dress code, friendliness, and cleanliness.
  • Responsible for recruiting, training, and nurturing a talented team of Personal Trainers.
  • Accountable for achieving departmental goals, including revenue targets and member retention.
  • Acts as the primary source of fitness knowledge within the club.
Management Scope:

    • Personal Trainers
Key Responsibilities:
The Fitness Training Supervisor is tasked with the following duties:

Staffing and Development [10% of time]
Maintain a motivated and high-performing fitness team that aligns with company values. To achieve this, the supervisor will:
  • Recruit, develop, and manage the performance of qualified Personal Trainers.
  • Train and guide other staff as necessary on fitness and supplementation, emphasizing their importance for member retention.
  • Conduct regular meetings with direct reports to assess performance and provide direction, motivation, and guidance toward achieving both individual and company objectives.
  • Manage the Personal Trainer schedule while adhering to budgeted non-session hours.
  • Address employee relations matters for all fitness staff.
  • Implement disciplinary actions under the guidance of direct supervisors.
Fitness Management [30% of time]
Ensure that all club members have access to a well-trained and professional fitness staff capable of providing fitness counseling, training, and programs that meet Crunch standards. The supervisor is responsible for achieving fitness and supplement revenue goals. To accomplish this, the supervisor will:
  • Ensure all Personal Trainers deliver high-quality programs to their clients.
  • Create weekly work schedules for fitness staff and ensure accurate time tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with time and labor guidelines and manage overtime according to company policies.
  • Provide member service and support related to fitness services, encouraging member engagement.
  • Oversee the accurate administration of Personal Training services, including usage tracking and program management.
  • Accountable for meeting monthly, quarterly, and yearly revenue goals related to personal training and supplements.
  • Recruit, train, and develop new Personal Trainers.
  • Regularly educate staff on industry trends and ensure Personal Trainers maintain a high level of professionalism.
Sales and Service [60% of time: club specific]
Engage in direct execution support within the fitness area.

Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Familiarity with Crunch Certified Personal Training Program and associated software.
  • Understanding of Personal Training techniques and program design.
  • Ability to operate all club equipment.
  • Experience in coaching and motivating groups.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a friendly, enthusiastic, and positive demeanor.
  • Strong focus on member service.
  • Professional response to inquiries from guests, members, and staff.
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Current CPR certification.
Certifications:
  • One or more of the following certifications is required:
  • American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)
  • Certified Personal Trainer
  • American Council on Exercise (ACE)
  • National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)
  • Other relevant certifications.
Experience:
  • 1-2 years as a Personal Trainer preferred.
  • Prior management experience in a related field leading a team is preferred.
  • Consultative sales experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a club environment; move about club floors and rooms; communicate effectively with employees, members, and the public.
  • Regularly required to demonstrate or explain proper fitness techniques and procedures. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Travel: Must be able to travel by car and airplane as needed.
