Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team at August Healthcare at Iliff. As a key member of our Respiratory Care Services department, you will be responsible for providing accurate patient evaluation, testing, diagnostics, and monitoring under medical direction to ensure quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform respiratory care assessments of patients in a timely and accurate manner to ensure effective therapy.
  • Implement all therapeutic aspects of respiratory care under the direction of the department medical director and in compliance with department policy and procedures.
  • Administer respiratory-related medication to the tracheobronchial tree according to physician orders and department policy.
  • Monitor patient rehabilitation goals for appropriateness and consistency of therapy.
  • Provide ongoing care to patients requiring oxygen therapy, artificial airway management, mechanical ventilation, and weaning.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
  • National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and state license credential.
  • Ability to recognize and understand diseases processes, as well as the psychological and physiological aspects and needs of patients and families.
Work Environment

This position will be performed primarily indoors at one of our long-term healthcare facilities. You will work in various areas, including resident rooms, and on carpeted and/or tiled floors. You may be exposed to occasional slippery floors, objects on floors, chemicals, sharp objects, hazardous materials, and waste, as well as high-stress medical and/or life-threatening situations.

Physical and Sensory Requirements
  • Requires handling of average-weight objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
  • Standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
