The Unit Customer Service Specialist / Secretary plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of their assigned nursing unit at Baptist Health. This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who can provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a warm welcome to new and existing patients, ensuring a positive hospital experience.
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with healthcare teams to ensure timely and efficient care.
- Respond promptly and courteously to call lights, ensuring all team members are aware of patient needs.
- Organize and maintain accurate patient charts, reviewing test results and lab reports to ensure completeness and timeliness.
- Ensure all staff members have necessary equipment and supplies, and that all areas are stocked and maintained.
- Complete EPIC workflows for admission and discharge, ensuring seamless transitions for patients.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to Baptist Health's high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Verify the accuracy of rovers and complete the Right of Choice form for Med to Bed.
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide direct patient care and support.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Data entry experience and knowledge of computer programs preferred.
- Fluent English language skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing priorities.
- Self-motivated and able to exercise sound judgment in response to patient inquiries.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Experience working in data entry software and maintaining detailed information regarding available stock and supplies.
This role will be authorized 72.00 hours bi-weekly.
