At Saab, we are seeking a highly skilled Lead Production Test Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for leading a team of production test engineers and technicians to meet business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in test development and a proven track record of implementing cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment in a production environment.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a team of production test engineers and technicians to meet business objectives.
  • Integrating, developing, and implementing cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment in a production environment.
  • Preparing test and diagnostic programs, designing test fixtures and equipment, and documenting specifications and procedures for new products.
  • Defining, documenting, analyzing, performing, and interpreting developmental tests for new and/or modified products or product components.
  • Driving production testing development to take into account testability, efficiency, and quality during the requirements definition phase of a program.
  • Efficiently diagnosing problem areas, identifying root cause, and recommending cost-effective solutions.
  • Providing mentoring and broad technical guidance/coaching, including lessons learned, viewed as an expert in the field.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (or Associate's degree with significant experience) in a technical or engineering field.
  • 10+ years of professional experience testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic products in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise in problem decomposition, root cause analysis, and risk analysis using common diagnostic test equipment and software tools.
  • Experience with software and hardware integration and test methodologies.
  • Experience implementing new test processes and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate across disciplines and organizations.
  • Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Familiar with electronic assembly industry standards such as IPC610, IPC620, and J-STD-001.
