Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Patient Care: Provide comprehensive nursing care, including patient assessment, diagnosis, care planning, medication administration, and treatment provision in accordance with established protocols and standards of care.
  • Coordination of Care: Coordinate patient care services, including scheduling appointments and referrals to community-based services, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Communication: Serve as a resource for non-medical staff, providing education and support to ensure effective healthcare delivery in the correctional setting.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and complete records of patient care, including requests for medical attention, treatment provided, and patient education.
  • Administrative: Coordinate nursing care activities with other departments, assume responsibility for unit operations in the absence of management staff, and monitor medical supplies to ensure adequate stock and secure storage.

Requirements
  • Valid Oregon Registered Professional Nurse's License: Possess a valid Oregon Registered Professional Nurse's License at the time of appointment.
  • Unencumbered License: Preference given to candidates with an unencumbered license.
