Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Non-Destructive Test Inspector to join our team at SIFCO. As a key member of our quality control team, you will be responsible for conducting non-destructive tests to detect defects and ensuring the quality of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret written work order instructions, specifications, and method of inspection to ensure accurate testing.
  • Perform and record daily maintenance inspections to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Review paperwork and visually inspect parts for cleanliness and defects.
  • Conduct penetrant inspections to detect, interpret, evaluate, and record surface defects.
  • Generate certification of acceptance and reference work orders and log books to verify correct quantities of parts accepted or rejected.
  • Use instruments to measure light intensity and inspection tools to inspect work performed, ensuring proper tolerances are maintained.
  • Transport parts within the department and/or to the next operation using pallet jacks and material handling equipment.
  • Meet established standards for productivity and quality, and confer with supervisor when problems arise.
  • Support and ensure compliance to ISO 9002/AS 9100 Quality Management System.
Requirements
  • Must have practical and technical training to perform the job and be certified as Penetrant Inspector Level I or II, as required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, evaluate, and interpret surface defects and documents.
  • Ability to add and subtract, and work with jobs that require attention to detail.
  • Ability to read measuring instruments and inspection tools.
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule.
