Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for overseeing the transportation department's activities and ensuring that all functions are performed in accordance with company guidelines.

Main Responsibilities
  • Supervise transportation department activities and associates to ensure compliance with company, distribution center, and department guidelines.
  • Provide excellent customer service to stores serviced through timely order deliveries.
  • Route and schedule loads for distribution to the store, utilizing personnel and equipment in the most efficient manner.
  • Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure proper timing for delivery schedules and partner with procurement and traffic staff to coordinate backhauls.
  • Assign drivers to loads ensuring compliance with company and DOT guidelines.
  • Ensure all drivers comply with company, federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Maintain good public relations with store management via telephone communications and store visits.
  • Process weekly/monthly reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company and government rules and regulations by all department personnel.
Requirements
  • Previous experience and/or formal training or education in transportation, including loading of trailers and store delivery procedures, preferably in the grocery industry.
  • Good working knowledge of government regulations pertaining to transportation.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to supervise the work of others.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Personal computer skills, including experience with Excel and Word applications in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
What We Offer

As a Transportation Operations Manager at Albertsons Companies, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. We offer a competitive salary range of $69,500 to $85,000 annually, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation Pay, paid holidays, bereavement pay, and retirement benefits.

Work Environment

The majority of work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment. During part of the workday, the incumbent may move about the distribution center, including the yard, garage, and warehouse, and may be exposed to potential hazards related to machinery and equipment.
