Job SummaryThe Medical Laboratory Technician will perform standard laboratory tasks, including loading and unloading lab specimens, performing testing, and maintaining laboratory equipment. The successful candidate will have strong organizational and time management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Loading and unloading lab specimens from automated and non-automated instrumentation
- Performing various low to moderate-complexity testing, including waived testing
- Assisting in problem requisitions/specimens and accessing, entering, and executing lab orders in the appropriate medical record(s)
- Maintaining an environment that promotes physical safety for all patients, team members, and visitors
- Associate's Degree and Medical Lab Technician (MLT) Certification required
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role required
- Proven success in maintaining and continuously improving laboratory processes and procedures in a hospital and/or emergency room setting preferred
The Medical Laboratory Technician will work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, with frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The successful candidate will also have frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
