At Great Wolf Lodge, the IT Support Technician plays a crucial role in delivering technical assistance for the lodge's systems. Reporting to the IT Manager, the responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks including the installation and upkeep of workstations and printers throughout the resort, managing local servers, and overseeing network performance, hardware functionality, connectivity, and data backups.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with on-site personnel regarding system-related challenges linked to the Property Management System (PMS) and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Proactively monitor and manage the network, operating systems on workstations, security protocols, safety measures, backups, and servers pertinent to the resort's systems.
- Assemble, disassemble, repair, install, and remove computers and associated equipment authorized by the corporate office.
- Guide and train staff in the effective use of systems to ensure adherence to established company policies.
- Engage in job-related training, workshops, conventions, seminars, and opportunities for personal knowledge enhancement as directed.
- Administer and uphold compliance with GWR license agreements for budgetary accuracy.
- Work in close collaboration with members of the GWR IT team.
- Maintain precise inventories of equipment while ensuring a well-organized, safe, and clean workspace.
- Assist corporate IT with projects and support issues, whether in the field or at the corporate office.
- Prioritize projects and manage support workload effectively at the resort.
- Conduct regular training sessions to keep the knowledge base current among property staff.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Associate's degree in Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Solid understanding of O365, Microsoft Office, network technologies and concepts (TCP/IP, SMTP, Ethernet, Wide Area Networks), desktop/mobile operating systems, hardware, and audio/visual support experience.
- Proven proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications & Attributes
- Microsoft Certification.
- Prior IT experience in the hospitality or entertainment industry.
- Experience with SCCM administration and familiarity with Cisco and server virtualization.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational capabilities.
- Attention to detail.
- Positive and enthusiastic demeanor.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Physical Requirements
- Capable of lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Able to bend, stretch, and twist.
