Job Summary:

FlexStaff is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team for a travel assignment in a leading healthcare facility. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing patients for examinations, explaining procedures, and operating MRI equipment to administer procedures in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for MRI examinations, ensuring they are comfortable and informed throughout the process.
  • Operate MRI equipment to administer procedures, including abdominal, thoracic, neurological exams, and extremities.
  • Position patients on the exam table and ensure they are properly secured within the gantry.
  • Key in patient history data and other pertinent information obtained from requisitions completed by referring physicians.
  • Calculate the number of scans required based on patient size and operate equipment to ensure required images are obtained as ordered by radiologists.
  • Contact radiologists to review and ascertain whether additional scanning is required.
  • Operate equipment for the transfer of computed images to film, archival of disc memory to tape, and proper use of PACS systems.
  • Assist radiologists with the administration of I.V. contrast.
  • Monitor patient condition and directly observe patients during examinations.
  • Recognize and promptly report changes in patient condition and/or motor abnormality complaints to radiologists.
  • Perform minor repairs and frequent calibration checks on equipment, as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems of equipment by performing minor repairs, as necessary.
  • Recognize and report major problems to management to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Assist in patient flow, including scheduling exams, ensuring patients are sent for in advance of scheduled exams, and completing exams.
