IT Specialist

This is a challenging opportunity to join the U.S. Marine Corps team as an IT Specialist. The selected candidate will provide technical and functional systems management support for database management, support, change management, systems analysis, troubleshooting, security management, project management, and backup and recovery support.

• Provide technical and functional systems management support for database management, support, change management, systems analysis, troubleshooting, security management, project management, and backup and recovery support.
• Perform server hardware setup and operating system installation, computer application system installation, technical system administration functions for physical and virtualized environments.
• Implement new computer system hardware and software in support of Regional and Local systems.
• Research and analyze operating system and interface requirements to ensure operational viability of supported hardware and software systems.
• Provide technical support to functional system administrators of regional and local application systems.
• Support regional project management in support of any system modifications or upgrades.
• Provide technical evaluation of IT products and tools, hardware and software, that comprise a fully integrated, web-centric, development environment necessary to address customer functional requirements.
• Implement and administer a complex storage management system in support of regional and local systems requirements.
• Support the development and implementation of all required storage services, including: file replication, backup and restoration, performance management, security management, and change management.

• At least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies:

The selected candidate must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing operating systems technical support, storage management planning and support, hardware life cycle and configuration management, and evaluation and support of IT products and tool sets that support an integrated systems environment.
