Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at SigSauer. As an Ammunition Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing production processes to manufacture elite ammunition for the consumer, law enforcement, and military markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and implement safety improvements to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with Operations personnel to analyze and resolve issues affecting equipment efficiency.
  • Analyze performance data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement lean/six sigma principles to drive efficiency gains.
  • Design and develop touch tooling to improve tool life, product quality, and equipment efficiency using Solidworks and Agile software.
  • Work with Quality Assurance to improve process control and develop troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Develop and implement processes and production line layouts to support a lean production environment.
  • Collaborate with R&D engineers to ensure seamless transition from products in development to full industrialization.
  • Review 3D models and prints for accuracy and manufacturability.
  • Develop and implement work instructions for production processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience, or 20+ years of relevant experience in metal trades.
  • Practical hands-on experience with equipment, machining, and fabrication.
  • Experience troubleshooting/root cause analysis of mechanical systems.
  • 3D Design and knowledge of GD&T ASME Y14.5M-1994.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Aptitude for detail and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Work experience with munitions or energetic materials.
  • Design experience using SolidWorks CAD.
  • Process experience with facilities projects.
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Previous work experience in metal forming.
  • Knowledge and passion for hunting, shooting sports, firearms, or ammunition reloading.
Working Conditions
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
