Job Summary:

As a Manufacturing Process Engineer at Highlander Consultants, you will work closely with the production floor to provide effective and efficient manufacturing instructions for both new and legacy industrial equipment. You will be responsible for evaluating current manufacturing processes and identifying opportunities for process improvements. As part of the manufacturing engineering team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the continuing development of the internal production system.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve questions from the shop floor, ensuring minimal disruption to production flow.
  • Review product designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Create production routes/instructions within an ERP system.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to address quality issues.
  • Estimate production costs and lead times for aftermarket parts orders.
  • Assist with capacity management and backlog planning decisions.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance production.
  • Create drawings of parts/assemblies in SolidWorks from legacy and handwritten drawings.
  • Act as a liaison between manufacturing and design engineering, project management, or other internal groups to support production.
  • Analyze and improve current production processes throughout the facility to increase manufacturing capacity, capabilities, throughput, and cost reductions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or a similar 3D CAD software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with ERP Systems - SAP, Microsoft, Maximo, others.
  • Familiarity with common manufacturing processes.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Preferences:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a production environment.
  • Previous experience with industrial machining and fabrication.
  • Experience in project management and production outsourcing.

Candidates who meet the following criteria will be considered:

  • Candidates local to Jacksonville or able to relocate on their own.
  • No sponsored candidates will be considered.
  • This role is 100% onsite, with no hybrid or remote work options.
