Position Overview:
Case Western Reserve University's Department of Neurosciences is inviting applications for a full-time faculty role at a rank that reflects the candidate's experience and expertise. This is a renewable, 12-month, non-tenure-track appointment, primarily focused on teaching and mentoring undergraduate students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience.
Key Responsibilities:
The selected faculty member will be responsible for the development, direction, and instruction of several new undergraduate-level courses in Neuroscience, covering topics such as Systems Neuroscience/Neural Circuits and Behavioral Neuroscience. Additional duties include contributing to collaborative courses, advising students on career pathways and undergraduate research opportunities, and collaborating with departmental colleagues to enhance the curriculum and create new educational offerings.
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a PhD in Neuroscience, Biology, or a related discipline, with prior experience teaching Neuroscience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential. Candidates for the Assistant Professor position should possess a minimum of two years of teaching experience, while those applying for the Associate Professor role should have at least five years of teaching experience, along with a proven track record in student advising, course development, and/or educational program leadership.
