About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Systems Specialist to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of HVAC Automation Systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair complex electronic control system malfunctions, requiring extensive knowledge of various electronic or digital controls systems and the ability to test and write modifications in multiple languages of systems software.
  • Customer Interface: Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Meet regularly with customers to become familiar with operating problems and keep them informed on the nature of service provided, outstanding issues, and recommend system enhancements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Project Management: Manage assigned work to meet professional execution, time, and customer satisfaction standards. Report problems or changes to management immediately and interface with branch manager, service manager, service project manager, or subcontractors on projects to coordinate activities as required in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Training and Development: Mentor mechanical technicians on building automation activities, provide training to customers on electronic control systems operations, and deliver manuals and documentation to customers for training needs as required.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Compile job documentation, such as certificates of completion, customer training forms, training certificates, and punch lists. Conduct extensive self-study to improve and maintain technical proficiency in company product lines and complete certifications as required by the company.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Vocational school or an associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field, plus 3 years of industry experience or 5 years of experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
  • Skills and Abilities: General knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques. Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner. Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people, leadership skills to support the activities of mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical building automation equipment on a job site, and PC experience required and the ability to program HVAC-related software.
