Outpatient Adult Psychiatrist

The National Coalition of Healthcare Recruiters is seeking a skilled psychiatrist to join our team in a hospital-employed multi-specialty group practice. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a not-for-profit organization affiliated with the Yale School of Medicine and The Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medication management services to adult outpatients and adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) patients, including those with co-occurring disorders.
- Supervise Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Participate in regular team meetings and committees, such as peer review, to contribute to the development of best practices.
- Conduct an average of 2 medication check visits per hour to ensure timely and effective patient care.
- Occasionally provide coverage on the inpatient psychiatric unit to support the care of patients with complex needs.
- Share a call rotation with 3 other psychiatrists, covering every fourth weeknight from home to ensure 24/7 patient access.
- Participate in on-site rounding on two required weekends per year to provide hands-on care and support to patients.
- Provide backup coverage to moonlighters when they cover weekends to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements:
- Active State of Connecticut Medical License to practice medicine in the state.
- Active Connecticut Controlled Substances Practitioner Registration to prescribe controlled substances.
- Active DEA Practitioner Registration to handle controlled substances.
- Active Board Certification in Psychiatry to demonstrate expertise in the field.
- Active Buprenorphine (Suboxone) Physician Waiver Preferred to provide specialized care for patients with opioid use disorder.
