The Department of Family and Community Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is seeking a dedicated full-time non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor. This role involves both clinical practice and education within our Family Medicine Residency Clinic.

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Creating an Educational Environment: Establishing and maintaining a supportive atmosphere for residents to learn across all Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) competency areas.
  • Resident Preceptorship: Guiding residents in the Family Medicine Practice with a faculty-to-resident ratio of 1:4.
  • Leading Educational Sessions: Actively participating in and facilitating clinical discussions, didactic sessions, teaching rounds, and conferences.
  • Recruitment Participation: Engaging in the recruitment process for new residents, including overseeing applicant screening and selection.
  • Evaluation of Residents: Conducting formal and informal performance assessments and gathering feedback from attending staff.
  • Assisting Program Director: Supporting the program director in monitoring and presenting resident training issues to various committees as required.
  • Clinical Practice: Engaging in clinical practice outside of the residency program.
Candidates should possess an MD or DO and be board certified or board eligible in family medicine, with a strong interest in comprehensive family medicine, including obstetrics, inpatient, and outpatient care. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
