Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with a focus on Java to join our Data Services team. This role is critical in providing Agile DevOps support for essential systems.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Software Engineer, you will:

  • Engage in software development initiatives that foster innovation and enhancements using Java, JavaScript, Python, SpringBoot, and Hibernate.
  • Develop and implement software validation and testing methodologies utilizing Junit and Katalon.
  • Create and integrate custom software solutions to facilitate automated deployment technologies.
  • Prototype and deploy solutions within Commercial Cloud Solutions, leveraging Infrastructure platform services.
  • Collaborate closely with team members, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to ensure alignment of User Stories with customer use cases.
  • Analyze infrastructure requirements driven by developed software through proof of concept, performance, and end-to-end testing.
  • Support the Agile software development lifecycle in accordance with Program SAFe practices.
  • Utilize industry-leading DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and Unix bash scripting.
  • Document and execute systems software development, including the deployment of build artifacts across various environments using GitFlow constructs.
  • Communicate essential project information to team members to enhance team cohesion and effectiveness.
  • Leverage the Atlassian tool suite, including JIRA and Confluence, to monitor activities.
  • Identify and apply best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Innovate solutions to address the technical needs of our customers.

Basic Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proficiency in Agile practices and service-oriented environments.
  • Experience with Java and JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, particularly within DevOps toolsets and practices.
  • Experience with software testing performance tools, such as Junit.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages, including Python and Bash.
  • Experience in an Agile development environment.
  • Background in developing for Commercial Cloud Platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Experience with cloud data services (e.g., S3, RDS, EFS).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in version control systems and issue/problem tracking systems.
  • Experience with Spark, ElasticSearch, and Katalon/Selenium.
  • A Bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience.
  • An active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with developing in or deploying to AWS is advantageous.
