Job Summary

The Educational Diagnostician plays a crucial role in IDEA Public Schools' mission to ensure the success of all students and address barriers to academic and social outcomes. This position works closely with the Special Programs team, regional leaders, campus leaders, parents, and Special Education and General Education teachers to maximize student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supports special education teachers in developing appropriate IEP goals.
  • Ensures 100% compliance in Annual ARDs and submits all paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and other related service personnel to complete ARD paperwork.
  • Follows procedures for maintaining records and services.
  • Establishes Critical Student Instruction groups and executes instruction with fidelity at campuses.
  • Provides support to 504 campus coordinators with manifestation determinations.
  • Supports 504 campus coordinators with 504 meeting requirements, eligibility determinations, homebound, and manifestation determinations.
  • Conducts dyslexia evaluations for 504 students.
  • Guides campuses in tracking and documenting academic and behavioral interventions in TIER I, TIER II, and TIER III.
  • Conducts multidisciplinary evaluations for non-speech only students, non-autism, and non-emotional disturbance students.
  • Adheres to up-to-date evaluation tools and standards as stipulated in the American Psychological Association Testing Standards.
  • Conducts evaluations as needed for student College Board accommodations.
  • Helps campuses conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans in Response to Intervention.
  • Provides guidance on academic and behavioral interventions in TIER II and TIER III.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Special Education or Education from an accredited college or university.
  • Texas Educational Diagnostician Certificate is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a campus Educational Diagnostician is preferred.

IDEA Public Schools offers a competitive salary range of $74,764 - $87,100, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
