Job Summary

Amazon's Project Kuiper is a groundbreaking initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites, providing low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to underserved communities worldwide. As a Senior Data Scientist on the Kuiper Business Solutions team, you will lead the development of automated customer service and business analytics solutions using AI and machine learning technologies. Your expertise will be crucial in building and validating data pipelines, training and evaluating large language models, and designing A/B tests to validate model performance.

Key Responsibilities

* Build and validate data pipelines for training and evaluating large language models
* Clean and explore datasets to ensure robust model performance
* Train and evaluate large language models in a robust manner
* Design and conduct A/B tests to validate model performance
* Automate model inference on AWS infrastructure

Requirements

* 5+ years of experience in data querying languages, scripting languages, or statistical/mathematical software
* 4+ years of data scientist experience
* Advanced degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, machine learning, or equivalent quantitative field
* Experience with statistical models, such as multinomial logistic regression
* Previous experience with synthetic data generation or data augmentation techniques
* Experience in large language model fine-tuning, pretraining, testing, and prompt engineering

Preferred Qualifications

* 2+ years of experience in data visualization using AWS QuickSight, Tableau, R Shiny, etc.
* Experience managing data pipelines
* Experience as a leader and mentor on a data science team

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $143,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
