The Manufacturing Engineer plays a crucial role in overseeing the operational efficiency at our production facility. This position involves the design, execution, and enhancement of processes aimed at boosting productivity and ensuring quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assume full responsibility for the performance metrics of assigned projects, focusing on quality assurance, production efficiency, and ongoing process enhancements.
- Maintain and regulate master documentation in compliance with quality standards, actively participating in new product introductions to ensure optimal capacity and process arrangements.
- Provide accurate cost and timeline estimates for engineering modifications requested by clients, ensuring that production capabilities are aligned and changes are optimized to minimize waste and labor costs.
- Oversee the scheduling, documentation, and budgeting of assigned projects.
- Engage in communication with sales teams and suppliers to ensure alignment on project goals.
- Conduct site visits to clients as necessary to foster relationships and address concerns.
- Identify and analyze inefficiencies within assigned projects, implementing corrective actions to enhance throughput and reduce scrap and rework.
- Address client inquiries, formulate action plans, and maintain transparent communication throughout the resolution process.
- Manage timelines for assigned projects, including client meetings, production trials, and addressing any customer issues.
- Engage in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), estimate new business opportunities, track budgets, and oversee plant layout and tooling approval processes.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities or special projects as assigned.
- Process Input/Responsible/Output duties as outlined in quality and environmental process documentation.
- Contribute to the development of work instructions as per quality and environmental standards.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
- Proven knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes are essential.
- Strong communication, project management, and organizational skills are necessary.
- Experience in the automotive manufacturing sector is preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills for problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage changing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, including remote team members, while demonstrating initiative and independence.
- Comprehension of and adherence to all quality, safety, and environmental protocols.
- Participation in recycling initiatives is expected.
- Flexibility to work varied hours and shifts as required.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
- Utilization of necessary safety equipment is mandatory.
