Job Summary

Bridgewell is a leading provider of social and human services, empowering individuals with disabilities and life challenges to live safe, self-directed, and productive lives. We're seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional 1 to join our team and provide support and assistance in Level 1 residential programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide skills training and support in activities of daily living, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
  • Create opportunities for individuals to make decisions and develop their skills, fostering a sense of autonomy and confidence.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, and CARF, as well as Bridgewell policies and procedures.
  • Assist individuals with medical, clinical, and financial needs, providing a high level of care and support.
  • Transport and accompany individuals to medical, recreational, and other activities outside the program, promoting socialization and community engagement.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, adhering to regulatory requirements and Bridgewell's standards.
  • Develop positive relationships with guardians, family members, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree or DSP certification preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental or psychiatric disabilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to write clear and articulate documents.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and minimum 1 year of driving experience.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft products and web-based applications used by Bridgewell.
