We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Resident Care Assistants/Home Health Aides. In this role, you will provide hands-on care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psycho-social well-being.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), promoting independence and dignity.
- Escort residents to meals, recreational activities, and other events, fostering social interaction and community engagement.
- Support residents in achieving their highest level of physical, emotional, and psycho-social well-being, through personalized care and attention.
- Collaborate with the Wellness team to ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of our residents.
- Follow established policies and procedures, adhering to the instructions of the Nurse Shift Supervisor and the Director of Wellness.
- NY-Certified Nursing Assistant, Personal Care Attendant, or Home Health Aide certification.
- Experience working with individuals with Alzheimer's disease and dementia is highly valued.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Previous experience working with the geriatric population, providing assistance with ADLs, is preferred.
- Basic understanding of dementia, patience, and professionalism in redirecting residents.
- Ability to adjust to different personality types and situations in a positive manner.
- Must be reliable, caring, and gentle in touch and demeanor.
- Maintain an abiding respect for the elderly and remain calm in all situations.
