Supervision:
This position does not have any direct reports.

Position Summary:
Under close supervision, the Custodial Technician performs essential cleaning services in various customer locations or assigned areas. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness and safety in conference rooms, offices, cafeterias, courthouses, classrooms, government facilities, and common areas. This role requires knowledge of cleaning practices, equipment, and supplies, ensuring that all tasks are executed safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Execute cleaning duties using appropriate equipment and supplies, adhering to safety protocols.
2. Maintain cleanliness in facilities, restrooms, and common areas.
3. Manage waste disposal and replace trash bags as needed.
4. Dust and polish furniture and fixtures.
5. Clean kitchen areas, including tables and microwaves.
6. Vacuum carpets, sweep, mop, and deodorize floors.
7. Clean walls, arrange furniture, and maintain window blinds.
8. Utilize correct cleaning chemicals on all surfaces and refill dispensers.
9. Ensure quality of work and customer satisfaction, responding to requests as per established procedures.
10. Address spills promptly.
11. Maintain custodial equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
12. May perform floor waxing and buffing regularly.
13. May operate equipment such as cardboard bailers.
14. May oversee inventory and supply areas.
15. Undertake additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 0 to 1 year of experience in custodial services preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions for safe use of chemicals and equipment.
- Capacity to adhere to structured processes and learn to operate specialized custodial equipment.
- Effective communication skills to address inquiries from customers and report needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective working relationships.
- Flexibility to work evenings and adapt to schedule changes.
- Ability to manage resources and adjust to changing priorities.
- Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements:
Employees must be capable of performing the following physical tasks for extended periods, with or without assistance:
- Maneuvering around the worksite

- Pushing or pulling objects such as vacuums and carts
- May need to push/pull equipment weighing up to 70 pounds
- Grasping both small and large objects
- Climbing ladders or step stools.

Work Environment:
Work is conducted in an office setting or at customer locations, which may include commissaries, federal courthouses, or military bases. Employees may encounter exposure to chemicals, noise from maintenance equipment, and varying indoor and outdoor temperatures.
