We are seeking a skilled locksmith to join our team at Maricopa County. As a locksmith, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing commercial and detention facilities. Your expertise will ensure the security and integrity of our facilities, and you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of locking systems and technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair door locking hardware and closures, electronic door systems, and other security-related equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance on access control hardware and equipment
  • Install and repair detention-locking security hardware
  • Create and maintain master keying systems for detention and commercial applications
  • Respond to repair and service calls during and after work hours
  • Operate computers and mobile devices for time management, inventory, and work assignments

Working Conditions
  • Exerting physical effort occasionally, frequently, or constantly
  • Working in an office and field environment with exposure to loud noise, noxious odors, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, and other related conditions

Requirements
  • Three years of commercial locksmith experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of an industry-recognized locksmith apprenticeship program may substitute for up to two years of experience
  • Must complete a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) and MCSO background investigation and TOC certification to access County detention facilities
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire
