Position Overview

Role Summary:
This position involves executing a range of standard radiographic tasks efficiently and safely, while also reviewing and transmitting images and reports to the relevant medical professionals. The role includes administrative responsibilities within the Radiology Department and the preparation of necessary departmental documentation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for radiographic examinations by thoroughly assessing their needs and providing necessary education.
  • Conduct radiographic and/or fluoroscopic procedures.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of both scheduled and unscheduled tasks to enhance productivity.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in IV placement and the administration of contrast materials.
  • Operate computer systems and radiographic equipment for image generation and documentation.
  • Implement quality control measures to guarantee high-quality imaging.
  • Accurately enter and complete all patient data, including examination charges and supplies, into the Radiology Information System (RIS) or other relevant applications.
  • Prepare images for interpretation by radiologists in a timely and precise manner.
  • Exhibit flexibility and adaptability to meet the unique demands of the department.
  • Communicate any abnormal findings to the appropriate personnel to facilitate resolution and tracking.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality, continuity, and appropriateness of care.
  • Adhere to departmental procedures, processes, and policies.
  • Practice safety protocols in radiography by complying with all regulatory standards.
  • Follow universal precautions, infection control guidelines, and sterile techniques.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and work areas.
  • Participate in rotational on-call duties for after-hours coverage.
  • May assist in the clinical training of student technologists.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Uphold the profession's code of ethics in all aspects of practice.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience:

  • Minimum of one (1) year as a Radiologic Technologist.
Education:
  • N/A
License, Certification, Registration:
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Radiologic Technologist Certification

Additional Qualifications:

  • General understanding of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Health Regulations (DHR), and Radiation Safety and Protection.
  • Familiarity with examination protocols.
  • Basic computer skills, including keyboarding and navigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
