Q-Cells is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant II to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for performing day-to-day accounting operations, assisting senior leadership with our financial strategy, and aligning the policies and procedures of Q-Cells.
Responsibilities:- Perform the daily operations of the accounting department, including preparation of journal entries, payroll entries, and account reconciliation.
- Assist the Controller with monthly closing duties, including maintaining accrual and prepaid accounts.
- Responsible for reclassing expenses to correct cost centers on a weekly basis.
- Responsible for monthly benefit reconciliation, semi-monthly 401k benefit liabilities reconciliation, and quarterly Form 941 reconciliation.
- Prepare annual 1099 slips and supporting documents for the Controller's review.
- Prepare tax working papers (tax PBCs) for the tax department of Hanwha Affiliates for the Controller's review.
- Investigate and research tax requirements for all cities, counties, and states.
- Assist the Controller with sales and use tax returns, property tax returns, and excise tax returns for multiple states.
- Assist the Controller with all statutory filing, business registration, and tax requirements.
- Assist the Controller with quarterly and yearly tax PBC preparation.
- Provide backup support for other finance team members.
- Responsible for assisting with all financial matters related to government grants.
- Assist the Controller with all insurance renewals.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Chief Financial Officer and Controller.
- Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in Accounting required.
- Minimum 7 years of professional accounting experience required.
- Strong understanding of month-end and year-end processes required.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting preferred.
- Bilingual Korean/English strongly preferred.
