Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at The Salvation Army's Granada Hills Thrift Store. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager in the day-to-day operation of the store, including opening and closing procedures, point of sale operations, inventory management, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist Store Manager in Day-to-Day Operations: Partner with the Store Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the store, including opening and closing procedures, point of sale operations, and inventory management.
  2. Supervise Store Employees: Assist the Store Manager in supervising store employees, including scheduling, training, and performance coaching.
  3. Monitor and Analyze Key Performance Indicators: Assist the Store Manager in monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators to drive store sales and increase profitability.
  4. Coordinate Daily Operations: Coordinate daily morning and shift change team meetings, and ensure adequate store coverage.
  5. Develop and Implement Strategies: Develop and implement strategies to improve customer service, maximize customer experience, and increase sales.
  6. Ensure Store Security and Safety: Ensure the protection and security of store currency, inventory, and property, including safe funds, bank deposits, and equipment.
  7. Attend Meetings and Training: Attend ARC Monthly Safety Meetings and other training sessions as required.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required.
  • Minimum 2 Years Retail Management/Supervisory Experience: Required.
  • Valid Driver's License and Proof of Insurance: Required.
  • Ability to Pass Background Check: Required.
Physical Demands

The Assistant Store Manager must be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. They must also be able to grasp, push, pull objects, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Schedule

Our stores operate 7 days per week. Work schedules are determined by Management and employees must be flexible to ensure adequate store coverage.
