H-E-B is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Stationary Systems Operator to join our Industrial Facility Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining multiple steam and refrigeration systems that serve H-E-B warehousing and manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform basic refrigeration operations, including putting equipment online, taking it offline, water testing, oil draining, and charging compressors with oil.
  • Conduct refrigeration engine room operational checks and perform component and individual equipment pumpdowns.
  • Perform basic industrial refrigeration system troubleshooting and assist higher-level operators to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial refrigeration mechanical equipment.
  • Preserve piping and equipment by preparing surfaces and applying paint coatings.
  • Perform maintenance and inspections on screw compressors, purgers, centrifugal pumps, condensers, evaporators, and valves.
  • Assist higher-level operators to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair more complex refrigeration equipment.
  • Perform boiler room operational checks, blowdown on steaming boilers, and start up and shut down boilers, feed pumps, condensate return pumps, and other auxiliary equipment.
  • Perform boiler water and feed water testing and treatment and basic steam system troubleshooting.
  • Assist higher-level operators to prepare boilers for state, local, and insurance inspections and troubleshoot, maintain, and repair more complex steam equipment.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Pass RETA CARO certification within a year.
  • 40-hour HAZMAT certification or ability to acquire/maintain.
  • Boiler operator's license or ability to acquire/maintain.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks; attention to detail.
  • Ability to speak and read English.
  • Initiative.
Working Conditions:
  • Work while standing, sitting, stooping, walking, bending, with hands over head, and in prone position.
  • Climb; work from a 25-foot ladder and other elevated work platforms (manlift, scissor lift, catwalk, silo).
  • Occasionally lift and carry 90 lbs.
  • Work in extreme temperatures ranging from 20 to 130 degrees.
  • Pass an annual HAZMAT physical.
  • Obtain/maintain appropriate stationary engineer license, as required by local, state, or federal codes.
