Aseptic Operations Supervisor Job Description

Niagara Bottling, LLC is a leading bottled water manufacturer in the U.S., supplying major retailers across the nation. We are seeking an experienced Aseptic Operations Supervisor to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and coordinate all manufacturing activities to ensure timely production and product quality.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of employees engaging in component preparations, filling, capping, autoclaving, depy glass, compounding, filtration, filling, lyophilization, and terminal sterilization of finish product production.
  • Ensure proper systems and resources are in place to meet production schedules and product is manufactured to specification and in accordance with SOPs, cGMPs, and safety procedures.
  • Provide and supervise instructions to the manufacturing department to ensure all activities are followed as guidelines on GMP, Safety, SOPs, and policies at Niagara.
  • Review and update SOPs, deviations, and CAPAs and perform different roles as directed by upper manufacturing management.
  • Supervise manufacturing group leaders and hourly staff in proper operating aseptic techniques and produces.
  • Oversee indirectly/directly all hourly employees in the performance of their duties.
  • Develop information and compile reports concerning scheduling, production goals, equipment, and maintenance problems and other studies or reports as requested.
  • Coordinate manpower needs in support of training department to achieve personnel training.
  • Monitor production schedules.
  • Monitor data during all manufacturing activities.
  • Drive employee and equipment productivity to achieve optimum results.
  • Implement strategy from upper manufacturing management.
  • Provide clear updates, goals, and direction to the team in support of the daily production plan.
  • Confer with other department management to coordinate the scheduling of operations to achieve required deadlines.
  • Develop department employees through orientation, training, establishment of objectives, communication of rules and policies while building employee morale and motivation.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, cGMPs, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Monitor and control production schedules and activities to ensure the meeting of departmental performance objectives and budgets.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and control the production and operating activities to ensure optimum utilization of personnel, materials, and equipment.
  • Conduct continuous review and follow-up on projects to ensure completion of assigned work.
  • Review documents such as Protocols, Batch Records, Change Controls, Deviations, CAPAs, Risk Assessments, etc.
  • Evaluate the performance and production of staff; maintain records on performance.
  • Advise department management on matters relating to daily operations and make recommendations for improvements when feasible.
  • Recommend and implement value and process improvement programs.
  • Ensure adequate resources are available to manufacture product (equipment, supplies, and labor).
  • Support investigations, and document corrections/modification are done effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure direct reports are trained and work in compliance with applicable SOPs, GMPs, regulatory requirements, safety, environmental, and company policies.
Requirements:
  • 4 years of experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment.
  • 4 years of experience in a position.
  • 4 years of experience managing people/projects.
  • Experience may include a combination of work experience and education.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6 years of experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment.
  • 6 years of experience working in a position.
  • 6 years of experience managing people/projects.
  • Experience may include a combination of work experience and education.
Competencies:
  • Strong verbal, writing, and presentation skills to communicate effectively with immediate team and peers.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in collaborative group environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Intermediate knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
Education:
  • Minimum required: Bachelor's Degree with a certificate in PLC Programming and Electrical Maintenance or other related fields or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
Certification/License:
  • Required: PLC Programming and Electrical Maintenance.
  • Preferred: N/A.
Foreign Language:
  • None required.
