We are seeking a talented Civil Structural Engineer - Design Lead to join our team at Leidos in Portland, OR.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented engineer to lead the design of high-voltage utility civil substation projects. As a key member of our design team, you will work closely with other engineers, designers, and drafting technicians to deliver exceptional results.

The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background in civil-structural engineering, with experience in designing steel structures, concrete structures, geotechnical engineering, and foundations. Proficiency in software such as STAAD.Pro, RISA-3D, FAD, SAFE, SAG10, and LPILE is preferred.

You will be responsible for performing design calculations, developing construction-grade engineering design drawings, and ensuring compliance with project scope, schedule, and budget expectations. Site visits to client substation facilities and occasional travel for client meetings and industry-related events are expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of high-voltage utility civil substation projects

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil-Structural Engineering
  • EIT certification preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Mathcad
  • Proficiency in software such as STAAD.Pro, RISA-3D, FAD, SAFE, SAG10, and LPILE
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or MicroStation software
  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
