Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will oversee the coordination, modification, maintenance, and administration of company facilities and equipment. This role involves directing concurrent engineering projects with both technical and project management aspects for capital projects.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Directing concurrent engineering projects for capital projects while ensuring their success in meeting respective objectives.
  • Managing technical aspects such as architectural features, structural/civil, biotech process and laboratory equipment, HVAC, plant and clean utility systems, electrical power and lighting, automation.
  • Coordinating project management aspects including scope definition, stakeholder concurrence, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, procurement, installation support, and coordinating contract engineers and trade contractors during system modifications/additions.
  • Sustaining Maintenance and Facilities functions for multiple locations, including corrective and preventative maintenance, repair of facilities, utilities, and equipment, and ensuring facilities comply with local, state, federal, and corporate guidelines related to health safety and environmental functions.
  • Supporting Validation by planning and executing commissioning and validation protocols.
  • Supporting CAPA, Change Control, Deviation, Risk Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and other Quality Systems.
  • Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures and other procedures for installed systems.
  • E nsuring compliance with engineering standards, drawing controls, project controls, and other procedures necessary for the successful operation of the department.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering with a minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible facilities development, construction, and maintenance activities.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in another engineering discipline with a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible facilities development, construction, and maintenance activities.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a closely related technical discipline to engineering with a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible facilities design/development, construction, and maintenance activities.
  • Facilities management experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment (biotech, pharmaceutical, or medical device industries).
  • Knowledge of facilities operations typical to the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Ability to work with toxic materials, gases, electrical hazards, and dangerous tools and equipment.
Compensation: $115,000 - $135,000

This compensation range is based on current averages and expectations.
