**Job Title:** Quality Assurance Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Oakhurst Dairy. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality dairy products in New England.

About the Role:
The successful candidate will perform routine product analysis, including bacteriological, chemical, and physical testing of raw and finished goods. This position requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine product analysis to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Test incoming and outgoing products for suitability and compliance
  • Conduct bacteriological, chemical, and physical tests on raw and finished goods
  • Collaborate with Production, Shipping, and Maintenance staff to drive continuous improvement
  • Evaluate product temperatures throughout the manufacturing process
  • Verify cleaning completeness through visual inspection and swabbing activities
  • Inspect cleaning equipment for functionality and proper operation
  • Perform post-cleaning allergen verification and validation
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections in coordination with Production personnel
  • Review documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Maintain the Pathogen Environmental Monitoring program and participate in sampling activities
  • Troubleshoot quality issues with Production and Quality personnel
  • Recommend changes or improvements to laboratory procedures, plant inspections, process control, or cleaning and sanitizing programs

Requirements:
We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with a minimum of a 2-year degree in Dairy or Food Science, Biological Science, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have experience with compound light microscopy, bacterial plating methods, and GMPs. Strong project management and organizational skills are also essential for this role.

Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per year
