Position Summary:
The Environmental Services Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents, families, staff, and visitors. Reporting to the Environmental Services Director, this position is essential in upholding the community's standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for cleaning resident units as assigned.
- Thoroughly clean bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, bathtubs/showers, countertops, mirrors, and floors.
- Maintain cleanliness in kitchen areas, including counters and floors.
- Dust all surfaces while being respectful of residents' belongings.
- Vacuum exposed areas and wash windows as necessary.
- Clean common areas such as hallways, lobbies, and activity spaces.
- Ensure public restrooms are consistently clean and well-stocked.
- Manage housekeeping and laundry carts efficiently.
- Handle community laundry using appropriate products.
- Follow emergency procedures for chemical handling and biohazardous waste.
- Communicate effectively with the Environmental Services Director regarding supply needs.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- Previous maintenance experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to bend, reach, and work in confined spaces.
- Capable of pushing and pulling equipment.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
Additional Information:
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Potential exposure to infectious materials and various environmental conditions.
- Background checks and drug tests are required.
