Job Details
Our Roanoke manufacturing team is seeking a dedicated Sanitation Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in maintaining a pristine and audit-ready environment within our plant. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong sense of pride in their work, and the ability to perform tasks with efficiency and precision.
Principal Duties/Major Responsibilities:
- Perform cleaning procedures throughout the entire facility, both inside and outside.
- Replenish all PPE's such as gloves, masks, hairnets, or other protective personal equipment.
- Perform tasks on master cleaning schedule and record the completion of those tasks.
- Complete action items from safety and food safety inspections.
- Perform routine inventory of cleaning and chemical supplies.
- Empty garbage cans, sweep, vacuum, foot baths, and operate floor buffer.
- Assist with pest control program.
- Freshen up breakroom daily. Refill paper towel/soap/sanitizer dispensers in production rooms, lunchroom, and restrooms.
- Clean up standing water.
- Routine cleaning of plastic pallets.
- Cleaning and emptying garbage cans and carts regularly.
- Cleaning facility grounds to ensure removal of trash, debris, and residue.
- Identify areas that need special attention to detail (spot cleaning).
Requirements/Qualifications:
- High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) or equivalent.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. regularly.
- Forklift operator certified (preferred).
- Reliable, predictable attendance is required.
- Employee must have the ability to climb stairs and be on their feet for long periods of time.
- Must have practical working knowledge of basic arithmetic functions (multiplication, division, addition, subtraction).
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- HACCP certification and/or ServSafe Training a plus.
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to accurately follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform tasks.
- Able to report issues and provide updates to the supervisor.
- Strong communication skills with ability to read and write in English.
- Detail-oriented and professional.
- Ability to learn new tasks and concepts.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks efficiently.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Candidates must be accustomed to working in a manufacturing plant with varying temperatures. This position is subject to noise from machinery. It will require varying degrees of personal protective equipment, including steel-toed boots, earplugs, gloves, lab coats, masks, and safety glasses or goggles.
