As a Mechanical Systems Engineer at Infleqtion, you will play a critical role in designing and developing innovative opto-mechanical systems. Our team is passionate about harnessing the power of quantum technology to drive meaningful advancements in sensing and computing applications.

About the Position

This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, analysis, and simulation, with expertise in opto-mechanical systems.

Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Design and Development: Create designs for lab-to-rugged environments, considering high shock, vibration, and temperature extremes while maintaining precise optical alignments.
  2. Analysis and Testing: Prove your designs' performance through finite element analysis (FEA) and/or optical ray tracing simulations, and develop characterization procedures for stability and reliability testing.
  3. Component Manufacturing and Assembly: Formulate and execute structured test plans for component manufacturing, assembly, and alignment.
  4. Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with physicists, optical engineers, and other stakeholders to develop sub-systems that meet our top-level requirements.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, optical, or relevant engineering fields, or master's degree as a substitute for experience.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and working experience with SolidWorks PDM.
  • Intermediate understanding of GD&T drawing practices and laser beams.
  • Expert knowledge of opto-mechanical design, precision alignment, and optics design.

Benefits and Compensation

The salary range for this position is $112,000 to $143,500 based on skills and ability.
