About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a seasoned banking professional to lead our National Branch Network as part of the Consumer, Small and Business Banking division. As a Senior Branch Network Management Trainee, you will be responsible for leading, managing, and developing a diverse team of direct and indirect reports, creating a culture that fosters engagement and generates commitment and accountability to business outcomes.

Our ideal candidate has 4+ years of banking, financial services, or Branch Network experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education. They should also have 2+ years of leadership experience, with a proven track record of building and inspiring a team where adaptability, collaboration, and accountability to performance are critical to success.

The successful candidate will be able to analyze performance, understand strengths and opportunities, and execute a plan that empowers employees to achieve business objectives. They should also have experience and knowledge in coaching across customer segments, including affluent, high net worth, and small business, as well as experience building and maintaining effective relationships with customers, internal partners, and within the community.

This is an interim non-exempt position until the trainee has received certification of program completion and been placed into a branch. Successful completion of the Branch Manager Readiness program is a pre-requisite to transition into a non-exempt Associate Branch Manager (ABM) or exempt Branch Manager (BM) role.

Key responsibilities:
  • Coach, develop, and build a high-performing team to execute on business strategies, achieve results, and drive growth of the business.
  • Resolve low to moderately complex issues regarding the customer and employee experience, risk, and growth of the team and the business to meet Branch Network business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for making banking easier for customers through education and demonstration of available digital options to support adoption and customer convenience.
  • Lead the branch while engaging stakeholders, peers, and internal partners in collaborating and building strong partnerships to deliver a customer-centric experience.
  • Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent.
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of banking, financial services, or Branch Network experience, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience.
  • Ability to work a schedule that may include most Saturdays.
  • Ability to travel in assigned geography up to 50% of the time during the first 6 months, depending on location.
  • This position requires SAFE registration at the time of employment.
