Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly organized and experienced Project Environmental Scientist to oversee a wide range of complex environmental projects in Nevada and California. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality services to our clients.
Responsibilities- Prepare and review work plans, technical documents, and reports for federal, state, and local agencies.
- Develop the scope of environmental assessment and remediation projects from our diverse portfolio and manage budgets.
- Conduct regular field visits to drive project execution and ensure that appropriate technical and health and safety procedures are being followed.
- Review and approve vendor work proposals and invoices.
- Write project reports, analyze, and interpret data, and prepare final reports for senior review.
- Bachelor's degree in earth or environmental science related field.
- Five or more years of experience in geological assessments, water supply, water treatment, environmental assessments, contaminant investigation, contaminant remediation, storm water management, wastewater treatment, permitting projects, or compliance projects in the public and private sectors.
- Consulting experience.
- Strong working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations and experience interacting with governmental regulatory agencies.
- Demonstrated ability to properly manage multiple projects concurrently while ensuring compliance with deliverable timelines.
- Professional Registration/Certification or ability to attain within two years of hire.
- Ability to travel within the western regional US.
- Strong work ethic and knowledge of the consulting business.
- Strong commitment to Safety and staff development.
- Ability to effectively manage personnel and administrative functions.
- Advanced technical capabilities associated with the specific field of expertise.
- Motivated self-starter and ability to perform periodic field work.
- Strong problem-solving, research, and communication skills.
- Ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards associated with site operations.
- Willingness to conduct business development activities.
- Technical writing competency and computer literacy.
- In-depth experience with service line specific cost projections, budget preparation and tracking.
- Ability to work individually and as a team member.
