Global Safety Leader

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Global Safety Leader to join our team at Grindr. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our efforts to ensure the safety and security of our users and the integrity of our platform.
Key Responsibilities- Safety Standards Definition: Develop and implement Grindr's safety standards in partnership with our Legal and Privacy teams and other key stakeholders.
- Safety Operations and Technology Strategy: Develop and execute a global strategy to uphold safety standards across operations, moderation, technology, data, and product.
- External Representation: Represent the company publicly on Trust and Safety matters and engage with external stakeholders, including law enforcement, legislators, regulators, industry associations, non-profit organizations, and business partners.
- Integrity of Accounts and User Activity: Lead efforts to eliminate fake accounts, spam, illegal activity, and bad conduct on the platform.
- Regulatory Assessment: Partner with Legal and Privacy teams on regulatory matters, including the evaluation of and participation in consultations and legislative impact assessments.
- Performance Monitoring: Define and report on key performance indicators via regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate potential safety risks to users and the business.
- Industry Monitoring: Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices to continually enhance user safety.
- Crisis Management: Prepare for and respond to crises that impact user trust and safety, in collaboration with Legal, Communications, and Investor Relations teams.
- User Education: Work with Product, user research, and Grindr for Equality to educate users globally about safe practices on the platform.
- 7-10 years of experience as a Trust and Safety leader in a global social platform, DTC company, or similar organization.
- Prior experience implementing new policies, products, and processes to enhance Trust and Safety for Grindr users.
- Experience developing strategies for operational improvements and efficiency gains while supporting a diverse and large global consumer base.
- In-depth knowledge of online safety issues, policies, and best practices, especially when balancing competing internal and external priorities.
- Experience working with international issues across multiple geographies, including areas of freedom of expression, prevention of minors accessing platforms meant for adults, and user-generated content.
- Demonstrated experience with content moderation.
- Strong people management skills with prior experience leading a high-performing team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with prior experience as a recognized spokesperson for Trust and Safety issues.
- Strong analytical skills, including working with large data sets to identify and solve business problems.
- Strong relationship management skills, including the ability to influence and drive consensus among senior leadership.
