Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Special Procedure Technologist to join our team at Ellis Medicine. As a Special Procedure Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures, including CT scans, using independent judgment and specialized knowledge of computerized tomography systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures, including CT scans, using independent judgment and specialized knowledge of computerized tomography systems.
  • Operate all radiographic imaging equipment, including monitors, injectors, and scanners, associated with Special Procedures and Computed Tomography.
  • Collaborate with RNs to properly and accurately screen patients for labs, appropriate values, and diagnostic imaging.
  • Prepare IV Contrast Power injectors and administer Contrast Media under direct supervision of physician or provider with injection certification from NYS DOH as required.
  • Monitor PACS for Problem Studies and Call Reports, and work in conjunction with physicians for on-time procedure reports for timely coding and billing.
  • Assist in staff scheduling process to maintain day-to-day operations, and work collaboratively with Procedure Charge Entry Specialist to optimize accurate procedure charges.
  • Act as a preceptor, training new staff members in the various roles of a Special Procedure Technologist.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology education program.
  • ARRT registration required.
  • New York State license of Radiologic Technology required with contrast injection certification or obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Interventional Radiology experience preferred but not required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
  • Obtain Vascular Interventions (VI) certification within 24 months of hire and maintain certification throughout employment.

We offer a competitive salary range based on experience, skills, and education, and exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
