Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Paraprofessional to join our team at Matheny Medical and Educational Center. As a Paraprofessional, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and therapeutic needs of our students with medically complex developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and secure learning environment for students, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans, providing instructional support and resources as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between teachers, students, and other support staff, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide individualized support to students, including activities of daily living (ADLs) such as toileting, feeding, and swimming.
  • Assist in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), working closely with teachers and other professionals.
  • Collect and maintain accurate data on student progress, providing regular updates to teachers and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and other educational conferences, as needed.
  • Engage with students in all assigned educational activities, under the direct supervision of teachers.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by teachers or other supervisors, ensuring seamless continuity of care and education.
Requirements
  • 60 college credits required, with a focus on education, special education, or a related field.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members.
  • Physical stamina to perform duties that may require standing, walking, and lifting, as needed.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional care and support to students with medically complex developmental disabilities.
