Job Summary

The Marketing and Communications Specialist will lead the execution of campaigns and initiatives that support the organization's goals in membership growth, brand awareness, and hunting advocacy issue management.

This role will create, implement, and assess performance of communications and marketing efforts at the direction of the supervisor.

The ideal candidate will have an existing knowledge of SCI's current programs and mission and be passionate about hunter's rights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute communications strategies to support membership growth and brand awareness.
  • Write news articles, op-eds, news releases, and feature articles on a professional level.
  • Execute communications in email, social media, print, digital, and other channels.
  • Produce internal business reports and external reports.
  • Travel nationally and internationally as necessary.
  • Build relationships with congressional communications staff, industry communications, field writers, and reporters.
  • Communicate with SCI Chapters and generate materials highlighting their activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 to 5 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of Washington, D.C., politics, government, etc. is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of hunting and hunting implements, laws, traditions, and customs is extremely significant.
  • Experience in national and international travel and affairs is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software and SCI-specific programs and software.
  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and customer service skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
